How do artists and designers use clothing to communicate? And how does clothing reveal aspects of the wearer’s identity? These are themes that the latest GSK Contemporary fashion exhibition at 6 Burlington Gardens aims to explore, showcasing the work of 30 prominent international designers. Aware: Art Fashion Identity is one exhibition where you can expect to find much more than simple work boots and shirts; the exhibition takes a look at the varying roles of fashion in contemporary life, and the garments are equally beautiful and strange.

Whether you’re mad about fashion or looking to experience one of the most interesting current exhibitions London has to offer, you won’t be disappointed!

The Art Fashion Identity exhibition features the work of designers from the UK and beyond, and is divided into 4 sections:

This fascinating section of the exhibition explores the role of fashion in cultural history and the wearer or designer’s personal history.

Bon Jovi fans who were expecting to see their idols live on stage in Wembley Stadium next year were in for a surprise today – when it was announced that Jon Bon Jovi has turned down the opportunity to gig at Wembley in favour of Hyde Park. His reason? Hyde Park and Regents Park property happen to be within easy distance of the rocker’s favourite hotel.

Bon Jovi is scheduled to play in London during June 2011, and music lovers are already clamouring for tickets. They will be headlining Hard Rock Calling, a series of concerts taking place over the same dates as the Glastonbury Festival.

Sited by Slant Magazine as the best vocalist from super group the Pussycat Dolls, Melody Thornton is looking forward to showcasing her own unique live presence after signing to international artist booking agency, MN2S.

Raised on the melodies of The Jackson 5 and Aretha Franklin, soul music has always been at the heart of Melody Thornton’s aspirations. It was her natural affinity for powerhouse vocals that saw Melody recruited to the Pussycat Dolls in the first place. Even within the band, her eminent talent warranted a solo track, ‘Space’, which featured on the deluxe edition of the band’s huge album, ‘Doll Domination’.

As the youngest member of the band, and known as Baby Doll, Melody earned her stripes as a performer, touring the world and consistently producing smash hits. Now, she has no desire to turn her back on the pop audience that provided her with so many opportunities, and is heading for a dynamic solo venture.

Liverpool-born, Manchester-bred, Berlin-based, Tony has become an inspiring mainstay on the dance scene. Celebrated in his adopted German base and beyond, Tony has demonstrated to audiences across the world that his poignant, realistic and releasing beats know exactly where and when to hit.

Though evolving his craft for some twenty years, 2008 was Tony’s breakthrough period and one that announced to any doubters that he had it right all along. During that year, a flurry of releases, under numerous excited and respected labels, initiated something of a scrum to sign Tony. Now, he is acknowledged as one of the most exciting talents around.

Boy George proves with his upcoming album, ‘Ordinary Alien – The Kinky Roland Files’, that one of music’s most passionate and unique talents is still soaring with a voice that sweetly engages attention and lyrics that demand it.

The man that sound-tracked much of the eighties, with globally admired super group Culture Club, is back with a new album – his first since 2002. Already available in South America, the album gets is CD and digital release here on 29 January 2011, right off the back of the icon’s current sell-out European tour.

‘Ordinary Alien – The Kinky Roland Files’ was produced by Boy George himself, as well as long-time friend and collaborator, Kinky Roland. The album highlights George’s recently oft-forgotten vocal ability throughout, and conveys his multi-disciplinarian approach to his beloved musical craft, which includes renowned skills as a DJ, producer and songwriter.

Those of you who grew up reading Sherlock Holmes will be delighted to know that The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes are being performed live. Milk Bottle Productions is proud to present the complete stories of Sherlock Holmes by author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle at the fabulous London property; Barons Court Theatre from 30 November 2010 to 9 January 2011. In fact the proximity to this building is one of the selling points of any Barons Court flat for sale.

The Kaiser Chiefs have been welcomed with open arms by international artist agency MN2S for DJ bookings, and the firm is “thrilled” to be on hand to support one of Britain’s most successful bands of the past five years.

According to a recent BBC interview with Kaiser Chiefs front man Ricky Wilson, the band are busy working on new material, and are feeling more energised now that at any point in their career. The album is yet to be given a name or a release date, but based upon previous releases and the energy the band demonstrate on stage, it is sure to offer fans a heavy dose of fresh rock talent.

Formed in 1997, the Leeds band released their debut album, ‘Employment’ in 2005. Selling over three million copies and making the Mercury Music Prize shortlist, the album achieved incredible commercial and critical acclaim. The 2007 follow up, ‘Yours Truly, Angry Mob’, featured the UK number one anthem, ‘Ruby’ and cemented their reputation as one of the most exciting bands around.

When London-born vocalist Luciana Caporaso was planning her career, achieving a Billboard number 1 was probably one of the goals she ambitiously set, but didn’t expect to fulfil.

Now, with ‘I like that’ sitting comfortably at the top of the US charts, the electro powerhouse has done what many have tried and failed. What’s more, this is the second time she’s done it.

Produced by Richard Vission and Static Revenger, ‘I like that’ has also gone double platinum in Australia and is winning over fans and charts worldwide. The song was supported by a US nationwide club-tour, which bought fans closer to the energy and enthusiasm Luciana has for her music. The tour, growing radio play on massive commercial stations and even featuring on MTV show ‘Jersey Shore’, gave ‘I like that’ the thrust needed to send it to the top – making Luciana a household name yet again.

Love him or hate him, Charlie Chaplin is an icon is British film history. A new exhibition has been produced by Jonathan Sands, founder of the London Film Museum, and provides visitors with new insight into the life and death of Charlie Chaplin.

The exhibition is divided into six sections, each chronicling the phases of his life. It is Charlie Chaplin’s biography in installation rather than in a book.
