The Epping Forest Festival will take place on picturesque Chingford Plain from 11:00 to 16:00 on Sunday 5th September. Families can expect all sorts of fun activities at the Epping Forest Festival, including craft workshops, jousting displays and a pipe band performance. There will also be a dog agility display, and families are encouraged to bring their four-footed friend along for the Epping Forest Festival “dog scurry”.

The annual forest festival is organised by the City of London Corporation’s Open Spaces Department. It offers families a chance to experience London’s biggest public open space, which is an important wildlife habitat. Visitors can learn about the conservation of areas like this 6,000 acre forest from staff and volunteers at the event. The Epping Forest Festival will also include forestry exhibits and a spectacular “dancing digger” display from mechanical diggers.

The forest festival is only 5 minutes walk from Chingford Station, and entrance is free! Families arriving by car will be charged a £3 parking fee however. The Epping Forest Festival isn’t just an entertaining day out, it’s a chance to learn about the importance of preserving natural spaces in urban surroundings.

Mathangi “Maya” Arulpragasam will blow you away with her rapping and singing skills as well as perform the hits that will undoubtedly get you grooving in no time.

Thriller – Live opened in February and will be running until September 12th, so with the dazzling musical event nearly at the end of its West End run, Michael Jackson fans who haven’t yet experienced it should book tickets as soon as possible. If you loved Michael Jackson, boogie on down to the Lyric Theatre for a performance that’s truly “off the wall”!

In celebration of the Lost DVD and Blueray release, Lost lovers will be able to experience the ABC series all over again with a London cinema offering the opportunity for Lost fans to marathon series viewing which will last up to 80 hours. This means that all 121 episodes of Lost will be shown and this will give super fans the opportunity to get together and enjoy Lost all over again.

The marathon session will be taking place at the Prince Charles cinema on the 13th of September and the best part about this marathon Lost session is that it is free to whoever gets there first! So, what are you waiting for?

Many band members have come and gone within the actual Blues Brother Band members line-up over time; but apart from Belushi and Aykroyd, the two most famous of the Blues Brothers Band members are actually still performing with the band. The two brilliant musicians we’re referring to are Steve “The Colonel” Cropper and Lou “Blue Lou” Marini who have been with the Blues Brothers Band since the start when they came onto the scene via performances on the Saturday Night Live show in the States in the late 1970’s.

With many of the original band members, this is definitely not a cheap version of The Blues Brothers Tribute Band. Audience members will be treated to a top class musical fusion of blues and jazz that could be best described as the sort of music one would associate with the modern day likes of Jools Holland.  And don’t worry, chances are that the Blue Brother Band members will be dressed in the suits that have made them so famous over the years; looking as if they belonged in the boardrooms of big companies such as Finelist or Media Square, rather than on stage performing quality music.

The River Thames Festival (also known as the Mayor’s Thames Festival) marks the end of summer in London with flair – the two-day carnival includes street entertainment, art installations, a festival market focused on ethically-sourced produce, and a spectacular fireworks display over the River Thames. From Westminster Bridge to Tower Bridge, Londoners can experience a celebration of the city’s famous waterway, the Thames.

The River Thames Festival also features Sing for Water, a mass adult choir dedicated to raising money for clean water and sanitation projects around the world. A total of 50 UK choirs performed at the River Thames Festival last year. And 2010 looks set to be even bigger!

The River Thames Festival 2010 will take place on 11th and 12th September, and will feature performances from dozens of underground artists and musicians, not to mention Thames Revival, a display of gorgeous classic vessels at St Katherine Docks. The line-up for the Heroes Concert continues to grow day by day. The likes of Robbie Williams, James Blunt, Enrique Iglesias and Alexandra Burke have already been confirmed for performances throughout the day. Recent additions to the line-up include Peter Kay who will be joining the many comedians providing laughs at the Heroes Concert as well as Katherine Jenkins with Spelbound who will be blowing us away with her amazing voice once again.

The Help for Heroes foundation was set up by Bryn and Emma Parry back in 2007 and aims to use events such as the Heroes Concert to raise funds to assist the many men and women who get wounded during services being carried out around the world for the UK army and related services. Yolanda Be Cool

Yolanda Be Cool’s first releases were two tracks in 2009 called “Afro Nuts” and “Holy Cow”. Soon after remixing  “Afro Nuts”, DCUP joined the pair and three began collaborating. They would describe their style as a cross between serious techno and fun afro-beat party music and state “Heater” by Samim and “The Whistler” by Claude von Stroke as the two tracks that blew them away, “the perfect blend of party and techno”. Having knuckled down and found the sound they wanted, they moved on to creating their hit “We No Speak Americano”. However you want to describe them, whether it be “party-tech”, “tropical-tech” or even “midget house”, you can’t deny that their style does what it says on the tin, and the world seems to agree! “We No Speak Americano” has gone to number one in most European countries, including Belgium, Finland, German, Austria, Switzerland, Ireland, the Netherlands, Sweden, Romania, and the UK. It has also conquered a few South American countries as well, including Argentina and Brazil, and reached platinum in Denmark. These days, the boys are finishing off an EP as well as continuing their overly successful collaboration with DCUP to create their follow up to “We No Speak Americano”! Stay locked people, you never know what these two Aussies are going to come up with next!

Locnville is Andrew and Brian Chaplin, twin brothers who were born in New York and raised in South Africa. The Locnville recorded their first single by the age of SEVEN and have continued to experiment with a variety of music genres until finally settling on the sound that is Locnville today. The Locnville style of music can best be described as a fusion of electro and hip hop music, drawing influences from the likes of similarly talented all-round musicians such as Timbaland and Calvin Harris.

The Locnville debut album Sun in my pocket is due for release in the UK within the next two months. The album was remarkably written, performed and produced by the talented duo who are in fact distant relatives of the late Charlie Chaplin. The Locnville debut album, Son in my Pocket, went platinum within the first month of its release in South Africa and the Locnville guys are hoping for similar success in the UK.

Coming out of South Africa’s “ZEF” music industry, Die Antwoord are currently riding an increasingly big wave to international domination. Die Antwoord is made up of Ninja and Yolandi Visser (who are actually married in real life) who optimize the “white trash” culture in South Africa and around the world. Die Antwoord’s lyrics are generally not suited for ears of all ages, but whether you appreciate their lyrics or not, you have to appreciate the unique angle that this duo have taken on the Hip Hop “ZEF” music industry.

Die Antwoord initially made waves on the “interweb” with a few sort of spoof videos, but have since turned into a genuinely talented music force to be reckoned with. Currently on massively hectic world tour, Die Antwoord will probably aim to make this collaboration with Aphex Twins one of the highlights of their tour.
